What’s in the Mail?

What’s in the Mail?

You might be surprised by the amount of physical mail you will receive after you start planning your Walt Disney World vacation.  This can be especially important to know if planning a surprise trip.  If you have a small mailbox or cannot receive packages directly, you may make alternate plans for your “Mickey mail” delivery.

The items included in this post are accurate as of a November 2015 trip.  The design of mailings may change.

1) Welcome Booklet

You receive your first piece of mail a few weeks after you link your reservation in My Disney Experience.  When you book through a travel agent you must link your reservation manually using your reservation number.  If you don’t link your reservation immediately after booking, you won’t receive this packet until after you’ve linked properly.

This booklet ships to the address in your My Disney Experience account.

3) Final Document Booklet

Final Document

Final Document

Your reservation booklet is an exciting milestone that says, “Vacation is almost here!”  These documents ship after your final payment due date 30 days before check-in.  Whether you pay in full early or on your due date, these documents ship approximately 3 weeks before your trip.

When you book through Mouse Unlimited, we receive these documents and immediately mail them to you.  We mail to your home address, or else to another address you specifically direct us to.  With no USPS delays, you should receive this approximately 2 weeks before your trip.

The exact envelope we use to mail and documents inside will vary by reservation.  Here are a few examples of what these final documents may include-

Magic Your Way Package
The final document booklet for packages lists your package inclusions, contains some information and tips, and lists your Magical Extras.

Magic Your Way Package with Magical Express
When your package includes Magical Express you will receive one yellow luggage tag per person with your final documents.  These yellow luggage tags are what allow you to check your bags at your home airport and have them delivered directly to your Disney hotel room.

Magic Your Way Package with separate Magical Express
Sometimes the package document and Magical Express document are printed and shipped separately.  In this case you get two envelopes.  There is no functional difference between these documents coming in two envelopes or one.

Room only reservations with no Magical Express receive no final documents from Disney.  We will mail you a packet with our informational papers, but you do not receive any official printed documents.

4) Magic Band box
Receiving your Magic Band box is an exciting and important step before you set off on vacation.  Customized Magic Bands ship just under 1 month before check-in.  They ship to the address in your My Disney Experience account, so it is very important this address is accurate and can accept deliveries of small boxes approximately 10.5″x6″x3.5″

Your souvenir luggage tags are now included with your Magic Band box, not your final document booklet as in years past.  Lift the dark gray Magic Band holder to find the luggage tags.

The luggage tags have new character designs based on the colors of Magic Bands.  Your luggage tags color and character are determined by the color of your customized Magic Band.

Be sure to keep track of the clear slips of plastic.  Loop these through the luggage tag slot to make your fastener.

5) Thank You
A few weeks after your trip you may receive a thank you envelope from Disney containing a sketch of a Disney character.  This mails to the address in your My Disney Experience account.  This is a cute pick-me-up when you have the post-vacation blues!
