Park Hours and Refurb Updates
Park Hours have been posted for May 2011. You can download a handy day-by-day calendar version from our website.
We’ve also updated the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort refurbishment schedules.
Guests visiting Walt Disney World in January should note that not only will Typhoon Lagoon be closed until the 8th (with Blizzard Beach closing the next day), but Splash Mountain in the Magic Kingdom and Kali River Rapids in Animal Kingdom will be closed for almost the entire month. This is routine for Splash Mountain, as it is shut down every January for some TLC.
Much of Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland is still behind construction walls with the Teacups currently closed and Winnie the Pooh closing on the 25th – not to mention the massive expansion encompassing the entire north half of the land. Pooh has been undergoing a queue overhaul for a while now, and will see the addition of some interactive features to help pass the time. The Teacups are just getting a new roof and will once again welcome routine barfing in November.
It’s a Small World will re-open in three days. Observant guests will notice that the load and unload queues have switched places to help facilitate riders in wheelchairs.
Golfers should note the cycling refurb schedule for the many Walt Disney World golf courses, also listed on our Park Hours page.
Guests visiting Disneyland in California this month should note that Roger Rabbit’s Cartoon Spin and It’s a Small World will be closed through the end of the month – along with It’s Tough to be a Bug and Mullholland Madness in Disney’s California Adventure.
Be sure to bookmark our Park Hours and Refurbishments page and check back often if you’re planning a trip to either of Disney’s U.S. destinations.
