‘Let the Memories Begin’ Update

‘Let the Memories Begin’ Update

Earlier today we posted a press release discussing the new celebration campaign for Disney Parks, as well as instructions on how to submit your very own memories to Disney.

We’ve learned a few more details since those official announcements today, including information on how Walt Disney World will celebrate your memories.

The current campaign, “What Will You Celebrate?” will be phased out of the parks beginning today. We noticed that as of earlier this week they were already removing the campaign banners from around the theme parks. By January 2011, the new campaign will be in full swing, almost assuredly represented by new banners around the theme parks.

Also beginning in January will be the “castle projections”, which Tom Staggs referred to in the live webcast today. The new high-intensity projection system has been undergoing harsh testing recently, and while we can’t show you the evidence, we can say that the castle is going to look absolutely stunning!

The projection “show” will be accompanied by a newly commissioned song. Now don’t worry folks, the popular nighttime fireworks show, Wishes, isn’t going anywhere. This new show is in addition to Wishes and will play on select nights. The projections on the castle will range from a look of a chalk pencil illustration, to live video of Tinkerbell flying around, to photos and videos submitted by guests (and taken by PhotoPass photographers each day) that scroll across the face of the castle.
